Andrés Dubón is an Associate of Legalsa, where he is part of the Dispute Resolution team. He specializes in supporting litigators as an advisor on corporate aspects of ongoing civil and commercial disputes and criminal proceedings. He also provides comprehensive business legal advice to a select group of the firm’s clients. These consultancy relationships have helped him to develop specialized expertise in corporate functions at companies embroiled in shareholder disputes (such as governance, management of shareholder meetings and negotiation of shareholder pacts), and downstream operations (Imports, distribution and commercialization) of the oil and gas sector.
Andrés’ recent experiences as legal counsel include: negotiation and structuring of a US$13 million joint venture for retail distribution of fuels in Guatemala; a project to acquire and/or lease real estate properties to develop over 50 service stations; and negotiation and formalization of a US$150 million syndicated loan.
Andrés is a frequent collaborator of the School of Law at Universidad Francisco Marroquín, where he has been an assistant professor of Litigation Theory and Tax Law; and he participates periodically in the three-people panel appointed to test the legal technical knowledge of JD candidates.
